Network Support & Business Wi-Fi in Aurora, IL

The client had purchased a large warehouse with attached front offices and multiple network locations throughout the facility. We were initially brought in to professionally test the existing fiber-optic connection running from the front office IT room to the central warehouse office and then to a rear warehouse network room. Testing confirmed that the existing fiber link was operational.

The next phase involved replacing the older CAT5 network cabling in the central warehouse office with CAT6 cabling and new, properly labeled network wall jacks.

After completing that work on time and within budget, the client asked us to replace the CAT5 cabling serving 15 front offices and the lobby.

Meraki Wi-Fi Design and Installation

The next challenge was providing reliable wireless network coverage throughout the warehouse for employees using wireless handheld scanners to pick orders.

Before installing the wireless network, we tested the facility using live Cisco Meraki wireless access points and created a wireless heat map to determine appropriate access-point placement.

We subsequently installed 49 Meraki wireless access points strategically positioned on the warehouse's approximately 28-foot-high beams. The system was designed to provide consistent Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the warehouse for the client's wireless order-picking scanners.
